What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

We are the largest city in this region – we should be a blend and link to the region and lead the way.  Connecting via high speed rail with Oak Ridge and Sevier County, therefore being an actual gateway and central hub. This would give us the identity to continue to grow for years in a positive manner.

What are you reading that is on your nightstand?

The Great Bridge by David McCollough

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

The World’s Fair and 1998 National Championship are tied for my favorite Knoxville memory.

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

Treat people with respect and no matter who they are treat everyone the same. Don Hewitt, Los Angeles Rams equipment manger, told me that and showed how to live my life in that manner.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

To be more patient with your goals, slow down and enjoy smaller moments in life.
