What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

I envision Knoxville fully capitalizing on our talent and potential as a community and prospering through strategic economic growth and the advancement of everyone. People who live here love being here, and people who visit here want to stay.

What are you reading that is on your nightstand?

“Leaders Eat Last” by Simon Sinek; “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce; “Tribe of Mentors” by Tim Ferriss

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

Ice skating with my family in Market Square, then visiting the stores downtown and sipping hot chocolate while we walked around and enjoyed the energy around the holidays.

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

When you feel a task or a project is complete, before you send it to the next stage, sit back and think about it for a minute. Think about if more can be done. What else can be done to make it even better? – Alan Carmichael

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Keep drawing. Keep creating things. The comic book artist dream isn’t going to work out; but you are going to have a blast creating all kinds of things, and you are going to meet some awesome people. Listen and pay attention.
