What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

Being newer to the city of Knoxville I remember my recruitment dinner at a restaurant at Market Square – such a great vibe and energy – it captured my family and me!

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

Growing in leadership and administrative roles I had a great mentor with my previous boss Dennis Vonderfecht. He consistently preached patience and perseverance. As challenges arise he would remind you to keep your focus on the big picture, always assess the issues but work to stay the course. I’m reminded of his words when working through tough issues.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Be bold – approach life with intensity and consistency and as I share with my 16 year old son every day before he goes to school “Do your best and be kind to others!”
