17 Dec Youth Leadership learns about TN Promise and Applying for College

Governor Bill Haslam’s (LK’92) proposed Tennessee Promise was the second of three activities for the Youth Leadership class at its’ September session.  After a month off during August, the class began its monthly meeting schedule by hearing a presentation on the Tennessee Promise from representative from Pellissippi State Community College.  Representatives from the admissions department of the University of Tennessee were also on hand to provide information to class members on the process and procedure of “Applying for College.” Also, the class took the time to learn about the importance of writing Thank You notes and drafted notes of appreciation to meal and gift sponsors of the Youth Leadership class.  The class met at the United Way building for its meeting in September.
